Thrift store find of the day: festival fashion

Tomorrow I am heading to Glastonbury festival. I'm very excited about it and decided to get some new clothes to wear for the occasion. When I am talking about 'new clothes' generally I mean second hand.  A small local store I often go to is Fara which i've bought many things from. Combined with my white button up top and cream tutu with pink flower wreath my theme seems to be very pink and girly!

Pink ombre shirt, floral dress, and white vest and a floral play suit

Altogether it cost around ₤15 which I am really pleased with. Besides the low cost of shopping at thrift stores, the profits don't go towards shareholders but often to charities and the people who work there are usually volunteers.

Next time you think you 'need' a new outfit, why not try your local thrift store first, you might be surprised!

Thrift store find of the day: holographic shoes

I love thrift stores (op shops, charity shops, second hand stores). Finding something that was pre-loved and unique is a thrill (especially when it's cheap!). I'm big on reducing waste, but also not supporting unethical practices such as sweat shops and pollution often done by large retail chains in order to increase the profit margin. When you shop at a thrift store, in most cases the staff are volunteers and the profit goes to charity.

Bought at Traid

Today I went out looking for something red for an event I'm going to next week, but ended up coming home with these super shiny shoes. I love shiny things, I'm basically a magpie, so when I saw something similar in Primark I had to really resist buying them. Next time you're looking for something cute and cheap, remember the true cost of purchasing from large chain retail stores and opt for thrift stores instead.
